Quantisnow alerts send news about the tickers you follow to your inbox, your phone or your own system. You set them per ticker: pick which kinds of news count, then pick the channels to deliver on. Anyone can set up the rules for free; delivery by email or push requires Plus, and webhooks require Premium.

## How alerts work

An alert has three parts:

1. **A followed ticker.** Alerts only fire for companies on your [followed tickers](https://www.quantisnow.com/docs/following-tickers) list.
2. **Categories.** Which kinds of news about that ticker should alert you.
3. **Channels.** Where the alert goes: Email, Push or Webhook.

When a new item matches a followed ticker and one of its enabled categories, Quantisnow sends it to every enabled channel for that ticker.

## How to set alert rules for a ticker

1. Follow the ticker, then go to [/follows](https://www.quantisnow.com/follows).
2. Click **Alerts off** (or **Alerts on**) next to the ticker.
3. Under **Categories**, switch on the kinds of news you want.
4. Optionally switch on **Important only** to cut noise.
5. Under **Channels**, switch on **Email**, **Push** and/or **Webhook**.
6. Click outside the menu or press **Esc** to close it. Changes save immediately.

The button reads **Alerts on** once at least one channel is active on a Plus account. On a free account the channel toggles show a **Plus only** note with a link to subscribe; your category choices are still saved.

## How to manage delivery on /alerters

The **Alerters** page at [/alerters](https://www.quantisnow.com/alerters), also linked from [/settings](https://www.quantisnow.com/settings), is where you configure the channels themselves. It is available on Plus.
