## Key takeaways

- You can follow tickers from the Followed tickers page at /follows or with the Follow button on any company page.
- Free accounts follow up to 5 tickers, Plus up to 250 and Premium up to 500; you need to be signed in.
- You follow companies by ticker; there is no way to follow a sector, keyword or feed.
- Each followed ticker has its own alert rules. Free gets email alerts 3 minutes late, Plus gets real-time email and push, and webhooks require Premium.

Following a ticker adds the company to your Quantisnow watchlist. Your followed tickers are the list that alerts are built on: each one has its own alert rules for which kinds of news should reach you and on which channels. Every plan can follow tickers, up to a limit per plan.

## What following does

| | Free account | Plus | Premium |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Follow tickers | Up to 5 | Up to 250 | Up to 500 |
| Set alert categories per ticker | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Email alerts | 3 minutes late | Real time | Real time |
| Push alerts | No | Yes | Yes |
| Webhook alerts | No | No | Yes |

When you reach your plan's limit, new follows are refused until you remove one or upgrade. Accounts that already follow more than their limit keep those follows.

You need a free account to follow tickers. If you are signed out, the Follow button takes you to sign up first and brings you back to the company page.

Following works at the company level. You cannot follow a sector, an industry, a keyword or a whole feed, and alerts and webhooks only cover the tickers you follow. To watch a whole event type across the market, such as every FDA item, use [Feed filters](https://www.quantisnow.com/docs/feed-filters), a [category page](https://www.quantisnow.com/docs/event-categories) or [RSS feeds](https://www.quantisnow.com/docs/rss-feeds).

## How to follow tickers from /follows

1. Go to [/follows](https://www.quantisnow.com/follows). You can also reach it from [/settings](https://www.quantisnow.com/settings) under **Followed tickers**.
2. Type a symbol or company name in the **Search ticker or name…** box.
3. Click a result marked **+ Follow**. A confirmation says **Added**.
4. Repeat for every company on your list.

Each followed ticker appears in a list with its symbol and name. Click the symbol to open its company page.

## How to follow from a company page

1. Open any company page, for example /company/NVDA. Use the header **Search ticker…** box or Cmd+K to get there fast. See [Search and keyboard shortcuts](https://www.quantisnow.com/docs/search-and-keyboard-shortcuts).
2. Click **Follow**. The button changes to **Following**, and a message offers a shortcut to **Settings** to tune alert channels.
3. To stop following, click **Following** again.

## How to unfollow

- On [/follows](https://www.quantisnow.com/follows), click **Remove** next to the ticker. A confirmation says **Removed**.
- Or click **Following** on the company page.

Unfollowing also removes that ticker's alert rules.

## How to set alerts for a followed ticker

Every row on [/follows](https://www.quantisnow.com/follows) has an alert button that reads **Alerts off** or **Alerts on**.

1. Click it to open the alert menu.
2. Under **Categories**, choose which kinds of news should alert you: **Press releases**, **Insider trading**, **SEC filings**, **FDA**, **Analyst ratings**, **Market insights**, and optionally **Important only**.
3. Under **Channels**, choose **Email**, **Push** and/or **Webhook**. Email works on every plan (3 minutes late on Free), Push requires Plus and Webhook requires Premium.

The button shows **Alerts on** when at least one channel is active. Full details in [Alerts](https://www.quantisnow.com/docs/alerts).

## Tips for a useful watchlist

- **Start with what you own.** Positions you hold are where an 8-K or downgrade matters most.
- **Add names you are researching.** Following lets you see their filings and releases without searching every day.
- **Tune categories per ticker.** For a biotech you may want FDA and SEC filings; for a large cap, maybe only analyst ratings and important items.
- **Prune regularly.** A focused list makes alerts more useful.

## FAQ

### How many tickers can I follow on Quantisnow?

Free accounts can follow up to 5 tickers, Plus up to 250 and Premium up to 500. If you need more than 500, email contact@quantisnow.com.

### Do I need Plus to follow tickers?

No. A free account can follow up to 5 tickers, set alert categories and get email alerts 3 minutes late. Plus raises the limit to 250 and adds real-time email and push; webhooks need Premium.

### Can I follow a sector or keyword instead of a ticker?

No. You can only follow companies, and there is no way to get alerts or webhooks for every ticker at once. To watch a sector, use feed filters; to watch an event type across the market, use a category page or RSS feed.

### Where do I manage my followed tickers?

Go to /follows, or open Settings and choose Followed tickers. From there you can add tickers, set alert rules and remove tickers.
