Since 1997, the Alliance Coal Scholars Program has provided $599,000 to 275 college-bound high school seniors, including $49,000 awarded to their exemplary teachers.

TULSA, Okla., June 16, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- Alliance Resource Partners, L.P. (NASDAQ:ARLP) announced this week the names of eight outstanding graduating high school seniors who will receive college scholarships through the Alliance Coal Scholars Program. Visit www.CoalBenefits.com/scholars-winners to see pictures and more information about the 2025 scholarship recipients. The company also announced the three teachers chosen by the top-ranked students to receive Teacher Achievement Awards.

All scholarship award recipients are children of Alliance Coal employees and are pursuing postsecondary education in college or vocational school programs. The Alliance Coal Scholars Program acknowledges these students' academic achievements, contributions to their communities and leadership in school activities.

"We proudly recognize the accomplishments of these scholars and take this opportunity to thank their parents and teachers who helped them succeed," said Christi Henson, Manager, Human Resource Services. "Supporting these talented graduates as they pursue their future goals is a privilege we deeply value."

The Alliance Coal Scholars Program annually grants renewable scholarships of $2,000 to three students and five $1,000 scholarships to the next highest-ranking candidates. The program helps Alliance Coal identify and cultivate top talent for the future while commending these graduates' excellence and supporting their continuing education.

This year's top three students, awarded $2,000 renewable scholarships, are:

Joseph Capps, graduate of Union County High School in Morganfield, Kentucky; son of Joseph Capps, employed by River View Coal, LLC.

Raigen Clark, graduate of Narrows High School in Narrows, Virginia; daughter of Casey Clark, employed by Matrix Design Group, LLC.

Julia Wright, graduate of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, Kentucky; daughter of Russell Wright, employed by Alliance Coal, LLC.

The scholars receiving $1,000 awards are:

Keirsten Hedges, graduate of North High School in Evansville, Indiana; daughter of John Hedges, employed by CR Services, LLC.

Hyatt Kelley, graduate of Webster County High School in Dixon, Kentucky; son of Morris Kelley, employed by River View Coal, LLC.

Canyon Neeley, graduate of Grayville CUSD#1 in Grayville, Illinois; son of Marc Neeley, employed by Gibson County Coal, LLC.

Laurel Shipley, graduate of John Marshall High School in Glen Dale, West Virginia; daughter of Brent Shipley, employed by Tunnel Ridge, LLC.

Emily Taylor, graduate of Union County High School in Morganfield, Kentucky; daughter of Larry Taylor, employed by River View Coal, LLC.

The Alliance Coal Teacher Achievement Awards recognize the meaningful impact teachers have on their students' academic journeys. The top three scholarship recipients each nominated a teacher — from elementary, junior high or high school — to receive this $500 award.

"We celebrate all the teachers who have contributed to the success these students have achieved and offer special recognition to the three teachers chosen by our top scholars," said Henson.

This year's Teacher Achievement Awards go to: Robert Bassett of Union County High School in Morganfield, Kentucky; Alleta Morrison of Narrows High School in Narrows, Virginia; and Elizabeth Pelphrey of Paul Laurence Dunbar High School in Lexington, Kentucky.

Scholarship America®, the nation's largest nonprofit scholarship administrator, conducts all aspects of the Alliance Coal Scholars Program, including the selection process.
