Ambassador Haas retired from the U.S. Foreign Service on September 27 after 33 years of U.S. government service, most recently as Ambassador to Bangladesh. He will join Excelerate's Washington DC office in October.

Ambassador Haas' State Department assignments also included acting Assistant Secretary of State for Economic and Business Affairs, Consul General in Mumbai, India, and Deputy Permanent Representative to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). Earlier in his foreign service career, Haas was posted to U.S. embassies in London, Rabat, Berlin, and Port-au-Prince.
