    Iconic Active-Adult Brand Expands Midwest Presence with Two New Communities Opening in Spring 2026

    PulteGroup and Del Webb, the nation's leading builder of active-adult communities for those 55 and older, today announced the introduction of its renowned brand to the Columbus market with two new communities offering resort-style living: Del Webb Maygrass in Plain City, designed for those 55 and older, and Del Webb Explore at Northstar in Sunbury, which will offer Del Webb's signature lifestyle to homebuyers of all ages.

    "Throughout the Midwest, we've seen strong interest from active-adult homebuyers that want the vibrant lifestyle and world-class amenities that Del Webb has to offer, without having to move away from friends, family, and grandchildren," said Jim Marcero, PulteGroup's Columbus Division President. "In bringing the Del Webb brand to the Columbus market, we'll be offering two distinct lifestyle options for homebuyers to choose from, including both the traditional Del Webb experience and our innovative Del Webb Explore concept – each offering resort-style living with amenities on a scale previously reserved for Sunbelt locations."

    Launched by PulteGroup earlier this year, Del Webb Explore is a new resort lifestyle-inspired brand that serves as an extension of the iconic Del Webb brand, offering homebuyers the amenities and active lifestyle that define the traditional Del Webb experience, but without the limitation of having to be 55 or older. PulteGroup's research found that 40 percent of potential Del Webb buyers preferred the Del Webb Explore concept, highlighting a shift in consumer wants and needs reflecting today's Gen X buyer. These buyers cited multiple reasons for their preference, such as needing to care for grandchildren, having older children still living at home, being younger than the traditional active-adult buyer, and simply wanting to live around people of varying ages.

    Del Webb Maygrass – Plain City

    Situated less than two miles from Glacier Ridge Metro Park, Del Webb Maygrass will offer 711 homes stretched out over more than 353 acres in its own park-like setting, with a design that includes more than 175 acres of dedicated open space, preservation areas, and nature trails. The community, catering to the 55+ set, will also feature a 16,000 square-foot modern lodge-style clubhouse that will include both indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness center, golf simulator, craft room, kitchen, multi-purpose event space, and outdoor gathering spaces, with additional amenities to include pickleball courts, bocce courts, a dog park, and community gardens.

    Del Webb Maygrass is located off Mitchell-Dewitt Road, west of US-33 and just 10 minutes from I-270, with proximity to Dublin and Bridge Park, offering convenient access to shopping, dining, health care, and other daily needs.

    Del Webb Explore at Northstar

    Located within the master-planned Northstar Community, Del Webb Explore at Northstar, open to all ages, will offer 570 homes situated on 256 acres of stunning natural terrain, including the scenic NorthStar Golf Club, a private world-class 18-hole golf course. Designed to seamlessly integrate with the golf course and its natural surroundings, many of the community's homesites will feature views of the golf course, natural preservation areas, ponds, or open space. The community's lifestyle will be anchored by a 14,500 square-foot clubhouse with amenities, including a state-of-the-art fitness center and movement studio, game room, golf simulator, kitchen, event/meeting spaces, and an expansive great room designed to support a variety of social activities and foster natural connections among neighbors. Amenities outside of the clubhouse include a resort-style outdoor pool with lap lanes, putting green, pickleball courts, bocce courts, fire pits, and outdoor gathering spaces offering spectacular views of the golf course and surrounding natural areas.

    Del Webb Explore at Northstar is located on Wilson Road, less than 3 miles from the intersection of I-71 and Rtes. 36/37, just 15 minutes north of I-270 and the Polaris Interchange, offering convenient access to shopping, dining, Big Walnut Schools, Alum Creek State Park, and other nearby amenities.

    Both communities will offer homebuyers the opportunity to select from three consumer-inspired design collections with single-story homes ranging from 1,502 - 2,754 square feet, expanding up to 3,590 square feet with optional 2nd story loft space. Construction is already underway in both locations, with home sales expected to begin in Spring 2026.
