DURHAM, N.C. , May 20, 2025 /PRNewswire/ -- PowerSecure, a leading provider of innovative energy solutions and subsidiary of Southern Company, announced its collaboration with the PGA TOUR for backup generation support for the new PGA TOUR Studios, a state-of-the-art facility redefining golf content production.

The 165,000-square-foot facility centralizes all PGA TOUR Media operations, including live production for PGA TOUR LIVE, PGA TOUR Champions and Korn Ferry Tour, along with social media, digital and international media. It boasts eight production rooms, eight audio control rooms and seven LED-equipped studios and can manage thousands of video and audio feeds, supporting up to 144 cameras or live feeds.
The collaboration between PowerSecure and the PGA TOUR helps ensure that the new PGA TOUR Studios remains operational without disruption. The facility is equipped with three PowerSecure PowerBlocks — modular, scalable power generation units providing a total backup capacity of 3750kW, with the option to add two additional generators. The Tier 4 Final engines produce reliable, efficient energy and are compatible with both diesel and hydrotreated vegetable oil.
The PowerSecure PowerControl Operations Center's 24/7 monitoring service, real-time alerts and continuous system performance tracking provides resilience against even small outages. Utilizing Tier 4 Final PowerBlocks, PGA TOUR Studios has access to Storm Mode, which allows the facility to switch to generator power before grid issues arise during storms. This proactive measure promotes uninterrupted operations, safeguarding critical activities and minimizing downtime.
