NexPoint Strategic Opportunities Fund is a closed ended balanced mutual fund launched by Highland Capital Management, L.P. It is managed by Nexpoint Advisors, L.P. The fund invests in the fixed income markets of the United States. It invests in companies across broadly diversified sectors to construct its portfolio. The fund typically invests in senior loans, secured and unsecured floating and fixed rate loans, bonds, debt obligations of stressed, distressed, and bankrupt issuers, mortgage-backed securities, asset-backed securities, and collateralized debt obligations with a primary focus on below investment grade debt and equity securities. The investment seeks to track the investment results (before fees and expenses) of the Dorsey Wright® Developed Markets Technical Leaders Index (the "underlying index"). The fund will invest at least 90% of its total assets in the securities that comprise the underlying index. The underlying index is comprised of equity securities of large capitalization companies based in countries with developed economies, excluding the United States.
