Methodology
Every Quantisnow wire item (press release, SEC filing, FDA item or analyst rating) is tagged with the companies it mentions. This dataset counts distinct items per sector of the tagged companies. An item that names companies in two sectors counts once in each, so sector counts can sum to more than the total.
Sector comes from the company profile; companies without one are grouped as Unclassified.
Figures are recomputed daily from the Quantisnow event database. The current month is marked as month to date until it closes; closed months are recomputed for a few days after month end to pick up late filings, then stay fixed.
