DENVER, Oct. 05, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- (247marketnews.com) – Today’s headlines include Kraig Biocraft Laboratories (OTCQB:KBLB), HeartBeam (NASDAQ:BEAT), QTREX Quantum (NASDAQ:QTEX), and Veea Inc. (NASDAQ:VEEA).

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories: Spider Silk Enters Commercial Arena

Kraig Biocraft Laboratories (OTCQB:KBLB) is moving into one of the most important phases of its long-running spider-silk story: commercial customer validation. On September 29, the company announced the shipment of its first commercial order of recombinant spider silk yarn to a globally recognized performance sports brand. The custom-engineered yarn is part of a confidential pilot-development program targeting performance apparel.

Kraig explicitly described it as a small, precision application rather than a bulk order. The bigger development is that the material has moved from production demonstrations into an actual customer development program. CEO Kim Thompson called the delivery "a huge milestone for Kraig Labs" and said, "High-performance sport is where materials prove themselves."

Production is also scaling behind the commercial push. KBLB said October 5 that all three of its Vietnam production centers are running the current September/October rearing cycle on staggered schedules. The model is intended to create overlapping production stages and more continuous output. Thompson said, "We are no longer producing to demonstrate and confirm scale. Production is now focused on addressing the commercial market opportunities for spider silk."

That makes KBLB an increasingly interesting commercialization story rather than simply a technology-development story, with the first shipment giving investors a tangible milestone against which future progress can be measured. KBLB's SEC filings identify potential applications ranging from performance apparel and technical textiles to filtration, flexible composites and medical applications.

HeartBeam: FDA Breakthrough Designation Raises Stakes

HeartBeam (NASDAQ:BEAT) has secured a major regulatory catalyst after the FDA granted Breakthrough Device Designation to the HeartBeam System for its potential use in assessing suspected heart attacks outside the hospital. The designation gives HeartBeam prioritized interaction with the FDA as it works toward a pivotal study and potential expansion of the device's indication.

The technology is built around HeartBeam's portable 3D ECG platform, which records electrical activity from three directions and can synthesize a 12-lead ECG representation. The company's larger ambition is to give physicians access to clinically useful ECG information closer to the moment symptoms begin, potentially addressing a major gap between symptom onset and arrival at a medical facility.

The regulatory development arrives alongside an increasingly active clinical program. HeartBeam has completed enrollment in the 134-patient ALIGN-ACS pilot study and has been advancing the 500-patient HEADSTART-ACS study in Indonesia. The company expects these programs to help inform the design of a U.S. pivotal trial for heart-attack assessment.

Importantly, the Breakthrough designation does not mean the heart-attack indication has been cleared. HeartBeam's currently cleared 12-lead synthesis software is intended for manual assessment of specified non-life-threatening arrhythmias and is not cleared for myocardial infarction or ischemia assessment. That distinction makes the upcoming clinical and regulatory milestones particularly important.

QTREX Quantum Infrastructure Story Gains Real Revenue

QTREX Quantum (NASDAQ:QTEX) is positioning itself at the infrastructure layer of the quantum-computing ecosystem, focusing on Additively Manufactured Electronics, or AME, designed for demanding electronics and quantum applications. The company's recent financial results provide an important data point: first-half 2026 revenue reached $1.55 million, compared with $289,000 in the first half of 2025, with consolidated gross margin of approximately 61%.

The revenue increase partly reflects the acquisition of the AME business on April 6, 2026, so the year-over-year comparison is not a clean organic-growth comparison. Nevertheless, QTREX has begun producing evidence that the acquired technology can translate into commercial activity. The company reported a commercial order for customized shielded RF monolithic components from a leading international government-owned company and said production had begun.

The defense angle is also becoming more prominent. In September, QTREX announced that one of Israel's three largest defense companies had begun deploying its AME technology under a joint development program. The agreement includes a potential phased commercial pathway with aggregate revenue for QTREX in the tens of millions of dollars, although that potential revenue is contingent on future development and deployment.

QTREX therefore has something increasingly valuable for a quantum infrastructure story: multiple external validation points. Its technology is moving through customer testing, production and deployment rather than remaining confined to laboratory demonstrations. The company also says its AME systems are operating at two U.S. government laboratories with quantum programs. The next question is whether those early engagements can develop into repeat production, larger contracts and sustainable revenue.

Veea Edge AI Story Expands into Connected Health

Veea Inc. (NASDAQ:VEEA) is building an increasingly broad edge-AI infrastructure story around secure connectivity, cybersecurity, local computing and agentic AI. The company's VeeaONE platform is designed to provide distributed computing and connectivity capabilities closer to where data is generated, positioning Veea to pursue applications across retail, industrial, telecommunications and other enterprise markets.

Recent commercial developments have strengthened that narrative. Veea says Telcel began billing customers in July following validation of Veea SecureConnect integration with Telcel's billing and back-office systems, representing a transition from a lengthy qualification process into a revenue-generating service. The company has also announced distribution and commercial relationships involving Telarus, Totalplay and autonomous-retail applications.

But the most dramatic strategic development is the proposed combination with NovaGen Group B.V. The companies announced a non-binding term sheet in September to create NovaGen Health Networks, a connected-health platform combining Veea's edge computing, connectivity and cybersecurity capabilities with NovaGen's cellular-reprogramming science and clinical services. Initial deployments are targeted for NovaGen clinics and partner hospitals in the fourth quarter of 2026.

GeoNova Capital has signed a term sheet to provide a $10 million cornerstone investment in the proposed combined company. Veea management has said the combined company could have an estimated value of approximately $750 million based on internal projections and an independent valuation, but investors should note that the proposed transaction remains subject to definitive agreements, due diligence, approvals and closing conditions.
