Explanation of Responses:

1. Mr. Ullem elected to receive 100% of his 2026 board and committee cash retainer fees in Illumina stock. The number of shares issued in lieu of cash is based on the quotient of (i) the cash compensation otherwise payable for the immediately completed quarter divided by (ii) the volume weighted average closing price per share during the immediately completed quarter, calculated by reference to each trading day during such quarter. The amount reported on this Form represents Mr. Ullem's 2nd quarter 2026 retainer fees.
