An increase of more than 6% compared to dividends declared in 2023

AKRON, Ohio, March 20, 2024 /PRNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of FirstEnergy Corp. (NYSE:FE) today declared a quarterly dividend of $0.425 per share of outstanding common stock payable June 1, 2024, to shareholders of record at the close of business on May 7, 2024.

Subject to continued Board approval, FirstEnergy expects to declare dividends totaling $1.70 per share in 2024, an increase of more than 6% compared to $1.60* per share declared in 2023.

FirstEnergy expects this dividend to be characterized as an ordinary dividend for federal tax purposes, rather than a return of capital. * Dividends declared in 2023 were $0.39 per share in March and June and $0.41 per share in September and December.
