CHICAGO, Oct. 14, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- JLL today announced the appointment of Mark Gibson to the newly created role of Country CEO, U.S. As part of this remit, Gibson will lead a U.S. Executive Committee focused on ensuring clients benefit from the full depth and breadth of JLL's capabilities each time they engage. The firm also today announced that Kevin MacKenzie will step into the role of CEO, Capital Markets, Americas when Gibson fully transitions to his new role, effective January 1, 2027.

The creation of this role is part of the execution of Accelerate 2030, JLL's multi-year strategy, and its "Deepen Client Relationships" imperative. The U.S. Executive Committee will serve clients based on a deep understanding of their strategic objectives and use JLL's technology-enabled platform and proprietary data to deliver leading insights.

"In today's complex operating environment, companies are looking to fewer, more strategic partners to advise them across their entire real estate portfolio," said Christian Ulbrich, President and CEO, JLL. "The Country CEO, U.S. will be central to delivering the expertise and scale our clients require. Mark is a highly accomplished leader with a strong track record of building lasting relationships with clients; he is uniquely positioned to bring the full breadth of JLL to every one of them."

Gibson has been CEO of Capital Markets Americas for seven years and will remain in that role through the end of 2026 to ensure a smooth transition. Prior to his current role, Mark was the CEO of HFF, Inc., which he led until 2019 when it was acquired by JLL.

"I'm honored to take on this new role and look forward to partnering with colleagues across JLL to continue delivering exceptional value for our clients at a global, national and local level," said Gibson. "I've always said that this is a team sport. The real estate landscape today is too complex and nuanced for any one person to offer what our clients need at scale; fortunately, at JLL, we have the brightest experts across every real estate discipline."

"We have a deep bench of experts and strong continuity of leadership in our Capital Markets team – as evidenced by Kevin's appointment," said Richard Bloxam, CEO of Capital Markets Services, JLL. "Kevin has built strong teams across multiple markets and business lines, bringing the best of JLL to our clients. His experience and track record make him the natural choice to lead Americas Capital Markets."

Kevin has been with HFF and JLL since 2004, progressing through several facets of the Capital Markets business. He became President of Capital Markets Americas and joined the Global Capital Markets Board on January 1, 2025.

FAQs

Question: Why is JLL creating this role now?

Answer: Clients want fewer, deeper, more strategic partners. JLL's business lines have the expertise to be that partner, and the Country CEO U.S. role makes working across business lines more seamless. It follows the country CEO model JLL already uses in its other major geographies.
Question: Does this change how JLL's business lines are organized?

Answer: No. Business lines will still keep their global reporting structure and leadership. The U.S. Executive Committee brings business line leaders together around shared clients.
Question: Is this connected to Accelerate 2030?

Answer: Yes. The role supports "Deepen Client Relationships," one of the six imperatives of Accelerate 2030, JLL's multi-year growth strategy.
