Made for snacking on the go, Go Buckets are the first KFC bucket designed to fit in a standard car cupholder

PLANO, Texas, Oct. 5, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- KFC is introducing Go Buckets, a new way to KFC that brings its signature Finger Lickin' Good® chicken to snacking occasions and moments beyond the traditional meal. Designed for on-the-go occasions, Go Buckets pair a choice of KFC chicken with fries or wedges, starting at just $3.49.

The new menu addition comes as snacking plays a bigger role in how Americans eat throughout the day. In fact, 87% of consumers reported snacking outside traditional mealtimes, according to Datassential. At the same time, convenience continues to shape restaurant behavior, with nearly three out of four restaurant orders now taken to go (National Restaurant Association).

"People want food to fit into their day, not the other way around," said Melissa Cash, Chief Marketing Officer, KFC U.S. "Go Buckets open up a new snacking occasion for KFC, whether guests are grabbing one on the go or picking up a few to feed the group. We wanted to meet those changing habits by giving guests more for their money while making it easier to enjoy the KFC they know and love."

Each Go Bucket comes with a choice of four nuggets, two wings or one tender, with six combinations ranging from 16 to 18 grams of protein. And in a first for KFC, Go Buckets are designed to be easily handheld or fit in a standard car cupholder, making it easier to bring KFC wherever the day takes you.

The KFC bucket dates back to 1957, when Colonel Harland Sanders and Pete Harman, KFC's first franchise owner, began filling paper buckets with 14 pieces of Kentucky Fried Chicken, five rolls and a pint of gravy as a family meal to take home and share. Nearly 70 years later, Go Buckets give the iconic bucket a new additional job: making room for the moments between meals, too.
