Includes shares acquired in exempt transactions: (a) under the dividend reinvestment feature of ALLETE's stock purchase and dividend reinvestment plan and (b) pursuant to the dividend equivalent feature of stock awards deferred under the ALLETE non-employee director deferral plan; based on respective plan information available as of May 31, 2024.

2. These shares were previously reported as indirectly beneficially owned by a family trust but, on October 16, 2023, were contributed to separate revocable trusts of which the reporting person and his spouse are trustees and beneficiaries.
