Achieves Top 10 Ranking Among Healthcare Suppliers from Modern Healthcare

Medical Properties Trust, Inc. (the "Company" or "MPT") (NYSE:MPT) today announced that, for the sixth consecutive year, it was named one of Modern Healthcare’s Best Places to Work in healthcare and, for the second time, one of America’s Greenest Companies by Newsweek and Plant-A Insights Group.

"Continuing to be recognized by Modern Healthcare and Newsweek is a tremendous honor," said Edward K. Aldag, Jr., MPT’s Chairman, President, and CEO. "While these recognitions highlight different areas of our business, both reflect our commitment to being a responsible company, whether through the workplace we create for our employees or the environmental practices we advance across our footprint. We are proud of the continued progress these recognitions represent and are grateful to our employees who make that progress possible."

The annual Best Places to Work in Healthcare program identifies and honors outstanding employers throughout the healthcare industry nationwide. Modern Healthcare partners with Workforce Research Group to conduct a rigorous assessment process, which includes an extensive employee survey.

Newsweek’s America’s Greenest Companies recognition is based on an evaluation of environmental performance indicators, including greenhouse gas emissions, water usage, waste generation, sustainability disclosures and environmental commitments, highlighting organizations that are making measurable progress in reducing their environmental impact and advancing sustainability initiatives.
