WARREN, N.J., Oct. 12, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- Excedrin today announced My Little Headache, a digital pet experience inspired by the resurgence of nostalgic virtual pets, bringing the real-life chaos of a headache to life while introducing Excedrin Rapid Relief. The new product features patented Fast Release Technology and starts providing relief from tough pain in as little as 15 minutes, all in an aspirin-free and caffeine-free formula.

Remember those digital pets you once worked so hard to keep happy? Have you noticed them popping up everywhere again lately? Excedrin certainly has, which is why the brand is putting its own spin on the Y2K trend. This is one digital pet you'll want to calm down.

Inspired by the pixelated handheld virtual pets popular in the late '90s and early 2000s, My Little Headache transforms the frustrating disruption of a headache into an interactive digital pet experience. Ignore "Headache" and My Little Headache grows increasingly persistent, with escalating alerts and animations that mimic the challenge of pushing through headache pain.

The escalation is intentional: just like a real headache, the experience highlights the need for fast relief. This is modeled through the device taking Rapid Relief and transforming from chaos to calm, with a newly unlocked bonus game symbolizing the feeling of getting back to yourself.

"Headaches have a way of showing up at the worst possible times, whether you're in the middle of work, spending time with friends or simply trying to enjoy your day," said Jacquelyn Gardyasz, Excedrin brand lead for Haleon. "With My Little Headache, we have created a visual representation of common headache triggers and how a headache can quickly escalate, taking over your day. Just like the digital pet becomes harder to ignore, real headaches can demand fast action. It's a reminder that you don't have to ignore the start of a headache or simply push through the pain when you could get relief that starts in as little as 15 minutes."

Turning Up the Y2K Nostalgia with Jesse McCartney

Further amplifying the campaign's celebration of early-2000s culture, Excedrin has partnered with singer and actor Jesse McCartney, whose enduring popularity, engaged social following and cultural relevance make him a natural fit for the initiative, especially as he is currently on tour.

"There's something really fun about revisiting the things that defined the early 2000s, and those little digital pets are definitely part of that nostalgia for so many people. When I heard about My Little Headache, I loved the idea of putting a funny spin on something we can all relate to - headaches," said Jesse McCartney. "It's a really creative way to bring that era back while giving people a chance to experience something completely new."
