Explanation of Responses:

1. Grant of Restricted Stock Units on May 18, 2023, pursuant to Ashland's incentive plan as approved by the shareholders and exempt pursuant to Rule 16b-3. The Restricted Stock Units vest in three annual installments. The first installment (1347) vests on May 8, 2024, the second installment (1348) vests on May 8, 2025, and the third installment (4043) vests on May 8, 2026, provided that the Reporting Person remains in continuous employment with the issuer.

2. Each Restricted Stock Unit represents a right to receive one (1) share of Ashland Common Stock.
