Explanation of Responses:

1. Each Restricted Stock Unit ("RSU") represents the contingent right to receive one share of Brighthouse Financial, Inc. ("BHF") common stock.

2. Award for service as a Board member pursuant to the Brighthouse Financial, Inc. 2017 Non-Management Director Stock Compensation Plan.

3. The RSUs will vest on the earlier of the first anniversary of the grant date or the date of the 2026 annual meeting of stockholders of BHF. Certain vested shares will be deferred in accordance with the Reporting Person's deferral election pursuant to the Brighthouse Services, LLC Deferred Compensation Plan for Non-Management Directors
