Explanation of Responses:

1. One third vest on each anniversary of the date of grant.

2. 50% vest on March 31, 2022 and 50% vest on March 31, 2023.

3. Each Subscription Receipt was automatically converted on September 30, 2021 into units of The Alkaline Water Company Inc. with each unit consisting of one common share and one common share purchase warrant, with each share purchase warrant entitling the holder to acquire one common share at $1.25 per share for a period ending on July 6, 2024.
