Item 7.01.

Regulation FD Disclosure.

On July 23, 2026, Safety Insurance Group, Inc., a Delaware corporation (the “Company”), issued a press release announcing its entry into an Agreement and Plan of Merger (the “Merger Agreement”) with MAPFRE U.S.A. Corp., a Massachusetts corporation (“Parent”), and Splash Merger Sub, Inc., a Delaware corporation and wholly-owned direct subsidiary of Parent (“Merger Subsidiary”), pursuant to which Merger Subsidiary will merge with and into the Company (the “Merger”), with the Company surviving the Merger as a wholly-owned direct subsidiary of Parent. Parent and Merger Subsidiary have agreed to acquire all of the Company’s outstanding shares of common stock for $105.00 per share, in cash. A copy of such press release is furnished as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
