(NASDAQ:SGHT) (Sight Sciences or the Company), an eyecare technology company focused on developing and commercializing innovative, interventional technologies intended to transform eyecare and improve patients’ lives, today announced that Aetna, Inc.’s (Aetna) updated Glaucoma Surgery Policy for its commercial plans now recognizes the OMNI® Surgical System (OMNI) and the SION® Surgical Instrument (SION) as medically necessary for the treatment of mild-to-moderate open-angle glaucoma when specified clinical criteria are met, establishing coverage of Sight Sciences’ interventional glaucoma technologies.

Aetna’s Glaucoma Surgery Policy recognizes multiple implant-free glaucoma procedures as medically necessary, including ab interno canaloplasty (e.g., OMNI) and adult goniotomy (e.g., SION), for mild-to-moderate open-angle glaucoma when specified clinical criteria are met.
