Shiv Gopalkrishnan, EVP and General Manager

"We are excited to welcome Shiv to Spok, as he is a rare leader who combines deep product and engineering expertise with a strong commercial mindset and an unwavering focus on customer outcomes," said Vincent D. "He has built, scaled, and transformed healthcare software businesses, and he understands what it takes to help long-standing customers move forward with confidence. At this very critical juncture for Spok, we are bringing engineering, product strategy, and sales together under one leader, as we position to move faster, serve our customers better, pursue new growth opportunities and further leverage artificial intelligence technologies."

Gopalkrishnan most recently served at Philips, where he was Global SVP and Business Leader for Healthcare IT. In that role, he led a roughly $400 million global business serving more than 5,000 enterprise customers and covering over 140 million lives globally. His responsibilities included leading enterprise software businesses such as Electronic Medical Record, Virtual care solutions, Cardiology PACS and directed the company’s AI transformation efforts. He had direct responsibility for sales, services, engineering, product management, and marketing. Earlier at Philips, he led the EMR and Care Management business, a roughly $200 million business with approximately 900 employees. Prior to Philips, Gopalkrishnan was vice president and general manager of Intelligent Healthcare Networks at Change Healthcare, where he incubated a real-time healthcare payments platform, and founded and led Healthstack, an AI-driven care management company. He spent nearly two decades at GE Healthcare, where he led the enterprise EMR and revenue cycle businesses, including the transition of premise-based software to modern cloud solutions. He played a key role in the business’s sale to Veritas Capital and its combination with Athenahealth.

Currently, Gopalkrishnan advises private equity and venture capital firms on healthcare software strategy and serves as a senior advisor to Ardan Equity, a healthcare and life sciences software investor. He previously served on the board of the Workgroup for Electronic Data Interchange (WEDI). He holds a master’s degree in engineering from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the University of Madras.

"I am very excited to join the Spok team," said Gopalkrishnan. "Spok plays a critical role in how care teams communicate, and its customers depend on it every day. I believe this is a pivotal moment in Spok’s history as there is a real opportunity to build on that foundation, deepen our partnerships with customers, and extend our reach into new areas of healthcare. My focus will be on customer outcomes and on aligning our product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to deliver them."
