From 42 service centers to more than 2,500 locations across North America, Valvoline Inc. marks a milestone year

Valvoline Inc. (NYSE:VVV), the quick, easy, trusted leader in preventive automotive maintenance, recognizes a milestone year marking 10 years as a public company and 40 years in the retail automotive services business.

"Forty years ago, Valvoline Inc. entered retail with a simple idea to make routine vehicle care faster, easier, and more trusted for busy drivers," said Lori Flees, President and Chief Executive Officer of Valvoline Inc. "That promise remains and these milestones are about more than longevity, they’re about the team members, franchisees, and customers who have helped shape our journey. From our first retail service centers to our network today, our purpose remains: we simplify vehicle care so customers can do what drives them."

Valvoline Inc.’s retail growth story began in 1986 with the acquisition of 42 Rapid Oil Change locations in Minneapolis, establishing its first retail service center footprint, which it later renamed Valvoline Instant Oil Change^SM. By the time of the company’s initial public offering 10 years ago, the system had crossed the 1,000-store threshold. Today, Valvoline Inc. has more than 2,500 service centers across the United States and Canada, with plans to grow to more than 3,500 locations systemwide.

The company’s longevity has been built by its people. Today, it employs more than 13,500 team members, and approximately 95% of its service center managers started as entry-level technicians. That culture of opportunity and care has helped the business grow while building trust with both customers and team members. Across the business, the company’s "Happy to Help" community work, dedicated to children’s physical and mental well-being, reflects how the company supports the people and communities connected to its service center network.

Earlier this year, Valvoline Inc. announced a $750,000 partnership with Ronald McDonald House Global as the organization’s first dedicated mental health corporate partner, underscoring how the company continues to invest in the people and communities that have helped sustain its retail business over four decades.

As the company enters its fifth decade in retail service, it is focused on continuing to meet the evolving needs of drivers. Vehicles are becoming more complex, and consumers are keeping them on the road longer, both driving the need for trusted preventative maintenance. Through it all, the company remains committed to delivering quick and easy service while continuing to earn customers’ trust through service, expertise, and convenience.
