Item 5.02. Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers

On August 19, 2024, Patrick J. Donovan tendered his resignation as a director of both West Bancorporation, Inc. (the "Company") and its wholly-owned subsidiary, West Bank, effective immediately. Prior to his resignation, Mr. Donovan also served on the Risk Management & Information Technology Committee of the Company's Board of Directors. Mr. Donovan's decision to resign was for personal reasons and was not a result of any conflict with the Company. The Company would like to sincerely thank Mr. Donovan for his outstanding service on the Board of Directors for the past five years.
