What mattered

Megacaps did the lifting

Equal-weight RSP gained just 0.08% against 0.58% for SPY. With Tech up 1.70% and the Dow flat, the index gain rested on a narrow group of large growth names.

Energy fell with oil

Energy dropped 2.02%, the worst sector, as USO lost 1.58%. The two moved together, and the data gives no separate cause for either.

Gold and the dollar rose together

GLD gained 1.21% while UUP rose 0.31% and TLT slipped 0.06% with yields higher. Defensives were mixed: Utilities rose 0.68%, but Staples fell 0.93% and Real estate fell 0.82%.

Prepare for tomorrow

  1. 1

ENPH down 14.15% after hours on Q3 results

Enphase fell after reporting third-quarter results. Check whether the drop pulls on other solar and clean-energy names at the open, and whether Tech's strength absorbs it.

  2. 2

HOOD down 4.91% after hours on Q3 results

Robinhood slid after its third-quarter report. Watch whether the move holds into the open and whether Financials, down 0.29% today, show any pull.

  3. 3

Check if the Tech lead and narrow breadth persist

Tech led by 1.70% while RSP lagged SPY by 0.50 points. If equal-weight keeps trailing at the open, the megacap-led read holds; a catch-up would signal broader participation.

  4. 4

    Energy after a 2% drop

Energy fell 2.02% with USO down 1.58%. Watch whether oil stabilizes or extends the slide, as the sector has tracked it. Our calendar shows nothing notable scheduled for Wednesday.
